A message from Masatomo Ogata
I am honored to be the new president of Kumamoto Golf Association (KGA). In Kumamoto Prefecture we have 38 amazing golf courses which fascinate many golfers from all over Japan. Why are they so attractive? Some of the reasons are as follows.
First, Kumamoto Prefecture is in a convenient location, being located in the center of the Kyusyu island. It is only a 33 minute ride from Fukuoka city by the “shinkansen” (bullet train). It’s only one hour from Osaka by plane. Second, our golf courses provide a relaxing environment with a breathtaking and scenic view. In 1999, golf made its National Athletic Meet debut here in Kumamoto Prefecture. In addition, KGA has held a lot of major tournaments in Kumamoto Prefecture for many years. Third, KGA, the only regional golf association in Kumamoto, has been supporting amateur golfers from various places in Kyusyu. Our method to cultivate talent produced a lot of popular professional golfers like Momoko Ueda.
Finally we will always welcome not only domestic golf players but also golf players from overseas. We would also like to help everyone enjoy playing golf on our beautiful golf courses.

Our Mission:
KGA will work to improve the popularity and interest in the game of golf, resulting in more rounds of golf played at member facilities in Kumamoto Prefecture.
